Partitioning Disks in Windows Vista · 27. December 2006, 23:59 by Derek Torres
Being a bit of a Symantec man, myself, PartitionMagic wasn’t an option when looking to partition my 160GB hard drive with Windows Vista.
I decided to take a chance and use the Computer Management feature to create a new partition. I must say, I was suitably impressed! I was able to create a new partition in seconds.
Simply click on the drive to partition and use the new Shrink Volume… command to do the job. A wizard tells you how much space is available to shrink; pick the size and a drive letter and you’re in business.

Running Windows Vista on a laptop Still having BIOS problems with Vista?
I installed a Mac formatted HDD. The disk management option saw the drive and allowed me to format, but I got an error formatting and now Vista won’t even see the drive. Not sure what other options I have at the moment.

I have tried the disk management option of ‘shrink’ but can only shrink the partition of about 7GB when I could do with a partition of about 10Gb. I, myself, am a Symantec guy and unfortunately do not have the option of using Partition Magic yet, does anyone know of any other options?
Thanks in advance,
Phil
