Microsoft extends XP deadline · 3. October 2007, 20:32 by Derek Torres

As it turns out, Microsoft has had to do an about-face and extend the deadline for phasing out Windows XP, according to Business Standard.

Initially, XP was set to expire on January 31, 2008. This meant that it would no longer be possible to buy XP, in the hopes that everyone would be ready for Vista at that point. Mind you, that date has nothing to do with support, it was simply a ‘do not sell by’ date.

It is now reported that this date is moved back to June 30, 2008.
