Snipping tool · 10. September 2006, 23:06 by Stuart Mudie
Why didn’t I discover this months ago? Windows Vista comes with a nifty little snipping tool for taking screenshots.
You want a screenshot. You press the print screen button, open up your paint program, paste the screenshot, crop it to size and save it as a JPG. Thats how normal screenshots work. Far too many steps?
Well the Snipping Tool reduces those steps to just a couple. Open snipping tool then drag your cursor over the area you want to capture and then save as a JPG. How simple is that?

The BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI compliant Thinking about that upgrade installation?
Too bad this feature doesn’t work in “dead zones” such as when the UAC has control or when you’re on the switch user page/login screen.

oohh Its great to see word is getting around. This blog business really does work doesn’t it? :-)
One sad piece of news though, I now know it is part of the tablet PC features and I am concerned it is not going to be a basic feature of Vista Home version when it is released.

Beck – I suspect that you’re right and that it won’t be a part of Home Basic. I wonder how many Tablet PC users would opt for this edition though?

Looking at the feature comparison chart, it looks like tablet features will be part of Home Premium package, so thats not so bad. Not sure I would upgrade to Home Premium just for that though ;)
