Sticking with Windows XP · 17. October 2006, 01:28 by Stuart Mudie
Paul Thurrott recently published an interesting article on why you might want to “stick with Windows XP in a Windows Vista world”, which combines well with Tom Adelstein’s suggestion on the O’Reilly Network that you should perhaps consider buying Windows XP now.
Somehow, I suspect my co-author Mr Torres may end up saying something different in the article he is writing for Microsoft comparing Vista and XP.

Updated licensing information Microsoft to allow anti-virus makers access to Vista code
While its true that an argument can easily be made for sticking with a tried-and-true OS – especially before switching to one that is just about to hit the market, Microsoft has decided that Vista is the new operating system. Eventually, like Win95 and soon Win98 before it, XP will go by the wayside. Even if now isn’t the time to switch to Vista for you personally, it’s still a good idea to get ready for it and educate yourself about what you can expect.
